When you fill your gas tank, use colones to pay. That’s it. or don’t. Your call but at least you know they do do this here.

  11. Nice tips, very well done for my country! Specially the pura vida part 🙂 For most things you mentioned are on point, however some things are not so true or realistic, like taking a trip to the Cocos island is not something a normal tourist would do realisticly speaking since it is very far away from Costa Rica and you need days to plan and permissions to go there. Also 6 coffee cups a day for the average costarican?! Where did that information came from? I don’t know anyone doing that so often, so to be that the average per person seems quite excesive. Also usually we don’t recommend visiting San Jose since it is not a very nice citiy to visit, so don’t waste time going there, you will find the same foods in any other place you visit. Anyhow, I also post many videos from Costa Rica on my channel, so anyone interested is welcome to take a look and any questions you might have let me know. cheers!

Before you buy your tickets do your home work, I have lived in Costa Rica for 30 years, own a beautiful Estate their but when I returned from Florida the last two trips I was accosted and prejudiced against like hundreds of other foreigners entering the country. I am also married to a Costa Rican citizen but they refused to honor my Blue Cross Blue shield Insurance policy even though it is exactly the same as the Policy they tried to force me to buy which cost $1,000. for 30 day’s, even though I had a note from the Insurance company, stating that they pay 100% of all Covid related illnesses for me and my Costa Rican wife. this is a strong political move to make Costa Rica the next Venezuela, even though they are right next door to another failed country Nicaragua, I t is all about Globalism at a fevers pitch!!!!!!!

  13. if you want to visit this country do yourself the reservation of hotel and rent a car the touris agencies are a fraud they charge you high fees and the only thing they do is to do reservation and to move you from one point to the next and leave you in the hotel like a package, really awful, also if you want to see nature my advice would be much better go to South America. costa Rica agencies exaggerate what you will see, also most of this you tube I think is full of lies. I just came back and was most of the things disappointing,

  29. The combination of the Indigenous Food, Spanish, Jamaican/Caribbean we have alot of variety, but most people in Costa Rica are a little lazy in the kitchen.

  33. Finally after 2 years I planned a trip. Fly between Mexico, Costa rica, Columbia. No covid test or vax required just getting back to the US without these things will be a little interesting but I’m determined now already wasted 2 years of my life sitting around because of this nonsense.

  37. It’s a very nice country, just keep in mind it can get expensive and especially for foreigners. The rates for touristic places are usually higher, to the point that it’s excessive. For example, the Manuel Antonio National Park will charge you around $18 the entrance, but if you’re local it’s about $3. The Pre-Columbian Museums in San José charge foreigners $15 and locals around $4.
