MOST REMOTE Tiny House in Costa Rica – 76 Year Old Man – OFF GRID 14 Years in Tiny Cabin

Building a tiny house in Costa Rica and starting a simple living could be the answer to living in Costa Rica. Our guest in today’s video has been living off-grid in Costa Rica for 14 years. He is now 76 years old but began building tiny homes, or tiny cabins 50 years ago.
For most of his life, he has spent off-grid and without electricity.

It took John 3 months to build this off-grid tiny house or some would call it a micro house. However, it wasn’t as easy as buying materials and building a cabin in Costa Rica.
John had found a spot, near a river, deep in the mountains and rainforest of Costa Rica. Where few people had ever been.

More about this video: Getting materials back to his Micro Home spot near the river would require carrying everything in by hand at least half a mile on a narrow Indian trail. And that was only after many hours and many trucks slowly making their way up the mountain on a muddy jungle track.
John has been living in Costa Rica for 14 years and has built a lot of tiny houses in his lifetime. Since being in Costa Rica, John has built a lot of tiny projects. Two tiny houses, a tiny church, tiny pub, tiny rooms, and much more.
John has been going tiny long before the tiny house movement began.
We hope this video inspires you and helps you to find a way to Live in Costa Rica.
John has done something here… I think a lot of us could do if we would be willing to give up some of life’s conveniences and enjoy a simpler way of living.
For me…I’ve often wished I could live the life John is living…
and maybe, someday, I will.
John’s story has inspired me and I hope it has inspired you to realize,
life is all about the choices we make.
It seems John has found his piece of paradise by building a tiny house in Costa Rica.
I think building a tiny house could be the answer to living an affordable and simple life in Costa Rica.

  1. A very interesting video. Thanks.
I also feel that admiration for a simple life surrounded by nature. I loved the video. Thanks

  2. Hey Fans…give us some love. This is the same video as what premiered earlier today, however YT found some technical issues…and I was forced to edit and re-upload.

  3. I love animals, snakes, and even bugs, but I couldn’t do it. I have an irrational fear of spiders. I can’t sleep when I see one in the room. That doesn’t keep me out of the jungle, I’ve stayed at plenty of places with spiders that big, probably a half a year total, but I never get over it. Once I ran into a spider web probably a quarter inch thick, the spider was over a foot long and seemed aggressive. All I can figure it was some sort of bird eater, it will always haunt my nightmares.

  4. Can you please make a video on the best banks in CR for foreigners? Banks that will allow people with a tourist visa to open an account. This especially goes for non- US citizens.
